Meet Dr. J...

My father, Dr. Alexander Alterman, having graduated Columbia University School of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (DDS) in 1935, established his practice in Washington Heights in 1936. He later opened a second office in Fort Lee, NJ. 

I worked with him here in the Washington Heights office from 1980 to 1994.  In 1994, we consolidated both offices in Washington Heights.  The neighborhood has always enjoyed a high percentage of recent immigrants -- once Irish and German, then Cuban, and more recently largely Dominican -- whom we have been pleased to serve through the years.

I'm pleased to continue to serve many of these families through several generations. Although some eventually move away from the neighborhood, a large number of them continue for return to us for their dental care.
